STONE-GATEWAY AND THE FLOWERY MIAO, by Will H.Hudspeth,M.A.
London, The Cargate Press,Holborn HallE.C.1.

This is one of the most interesting missionary books that I have ever read. It tells the thrilling story of the work of the English Methodist Mission among the Hua Miao which in many ways is the greatest success accomplished by missionaries in China. This Mission has now among the Hua Miao about twenty thousand Christian adherents, with forty five schools and churches.
In the book there are seven short chapters with a total of eighty-eight pages. The first two chapters contain valuable information about the social and religious customs of the people. The remaining chapters tell of the great moral and social uplift that has come to these people through the work of this Mission. Already several Hua Miao students have graduated from West China Union University.
Mr. Hudspeth has nearly completed a book on the customs of the Hua Miao.Since Mr.Hudspeth is a scholar who has lived for twenty vears in close contact with the Hua Miao, we can be sure that his forthcoming book will be of much scientific value and interest.
