其中一些推荐书目来自威斯敏斯特神学院（Westminster Theological Seminary）之前提供的一份书单。读者也需要熟悉《威斯敏斯特信条》和《威斯敏斯特要理问答》。正统长老会（OPC）在网上为这些文件提供了各种格式的电子版。

但最重要的是（我们再怎么强调也不为过），你要以祷告的心规律阅读圣经，也就是通读整本圣经——每年至少读一遍。离开了祷告和阅读神的话语，神学研究不仅毫无价值，甚至是有害的。

如何使用这个书单

刚接触改革宗传统的读者可能会发现，即使是第一层级的书也很有挑战性，但你要刚强壮胆。继续努力学习，多提问题。在掌握了第一层级的阅读内容之后，你再去研读第二层级的书。由于神学的各个领域相互联系，在进入下一个层级之前，你需要建立一个广博的知识基础。因此，在进入任何神学领域的第二层级之前，你要读完所有神学领域第一层级的书。

同样，只有在你牢牢掌握了所有中间阶段的阅读内容之后，才能进入第三个层级。不要把这当作一场“阅读竞赛”。仔细、耐心和深思熟虑的阅读会让你受益匪浅。你要考虑阅读的质量，而不是数量。
