for thirty some years I’ve been doing missions
三十年来，我一直致力于传教事工
and a lot of times people ask me， you know， what drives you？
很多时候人们问我，你的动力是什么？
well obviously, it’s the theology
好吧，很明显，是神学
obviously, it’s knowing god and knowing the importance of the great commission
很明显，是认识上帝并明白大使命的重要性
but one of the things that is a motivating force in my life
但有一件事是我生命中的推动力
is I actually see the mission field
就是我切实地看到了宣教禾场
and every time I go back to the mission field
每一次我回到宣教地区
every time I actually see the people in need
每一次我真实地看到那些需要帮助的人们
it drives me to…to want to be more
这驱使着我…想要成为更多
and to want to do more in the great commission
想要为大使命做得更多
and so…
所以…
I have all these images
我有着所有这些影像资料
over thirty years
在过去的30年中
of everywhere from the jungle to the mountains to the city
去过的每一个地方，由丛林到山区再到城市
and almost every continent of the great need of the great commission
还有几乎每一个急需福音的大陆
and how much the people of god throughout the world they’re suffering
以及全世界上帝百姓所遭受的痛苦
and I sometimes wish you know if I could only show all the other believers the things that I’ve seen
有时候我多么希望其他的信徒能看见我所看见的
that it would motivate them as much as it motivates me or hopefully more
以至于他们也受到激励，像我被激励一样，或许比我更多
to give themselves to world missions
使他们投身于全球的宣教事工
to give themselves to seeking the lord, to know the lord
投身于寻求主, 认识主
so that they be a useful instrument in his hands
好使他们就能成为主手中合用的器皿
in many conferences that I’ve been to throughout the years
这些年来我参加过许多的会议
some of them have had special speakers talking about using a cinema to promote the gospel message
有些会议上，有专题讲员讨论使用电影来宣讲福音
and I found it strange that often times it was about writing fiction
让我觉得很奇怪的是，人通常是编写虚构的剧本
in order to promote the great commission or in order to promote the gospel
以此来宣传大使命，或是宣讲福音
and I always wondered, why is it really necessary to do that
我一直在想，这真的有必要吗？
why should we be writing fictitious stories about the work of god
为什么我们要自己去虚构故事来讲述上帝的工作
when god is writing his own story
而上帝其实正在书写他自己的故事？
and it’s far more miraculous and far more exciting than anything that any of us could ever create in our own mind
并且这远比我们当中任何人能想出来的任何东西来的更加不可思议和激动人心
and that’s what we wanted to do in HeartCry
这就是我们在HeartCry想要做的
we do see the power of film
我们确实看见了影片的力量
the power of media
媒体的力量
but we don’t want to make up a story
但我们不希望去编造一个故事
we wanted to go out and find those stories that god is writing
我们想走出去，找到那些上帝正在书写的故事
and show people that what we see in the book of Acts
并且向人们展示，我们在《使徒行传》中所看到的
as far as lives being changed and cultures being transformed
就是生命被翻转、文化被改变的故事
it’s still going on today
如今仍旧在发生
and god is doing it
并且上帝自己在做这些事
a few years ago, I talked to the staff
几年前，我和同工交谈
and I said that you know I want people to see what we see on the field
我说，我想让人们看见我们在禾场上所看见的
and so we began to plan
于是我们开始计划
and we began to invest resources not a lot but wisely investing resources
我们开始投入资源，不是很多但是很明智地投入资源
in order to send people out
为要差派宣教士出去
many times volunteers who are going out they are making films
很多时候，那些走出去的宣教士自愿录制了影片
they are making documentary and they are bringing them back to us
他们做成记录片，并带回来给我们
we are editing them
然后我们对这些影片进行编辑
and the sole purpose is to let people see what’s going on in the world
我们唯一的目的是为了让人们看到世界上正在发生的事情
and also those who give to HeartCry we want them to see
并且我们希望那些给 HeartCry 奉献的人也能看到
all the wonderful things that god is doing through their generosity
上帝藉着他们的慷慨所成就的美事
well the purpose is most definitely not entertainment
我们这样做的目的绝不是为了娱乐
the purpose is information and motivation
而是在于提供信息，激励人心
Jesus says, We must work while it is day, night comes when no one works
耶稣说，“趁着白日，我们必须做那差我来者的工；黑夜将到，就没有人能做工了”（约9：4）
and my purpose is to put before the people of god the great need on the mission field
我的目的是让上帝的百姓看到宣教禾场上的巨大需求
but not just that
但不仅如此
the great possibilities
也让他们看到巨大的可能性
you know god is doing amazing things and I want people to see it
你知道上帝正在做成许多奇妙的事，我希望人们能看见
but also I want people to see their brothers and sisters in Christ around the world
同时，我也希望人们能看见世界各地主内的弟兄姊妹
and the way that they live
他们是如何生活的
I’m a citizen of United States of America
我是一个美国公民
but my people, my country…
但我的民，我的国…
my country is in heaven and my people are all over the world
我的国在天上，我的民遍布全世界
they are everyone who calls upon the name of Christ savingly with faith
他们是每一个凭得救之信心呼求基督之名的人
and we need to care about them
我们需要关心他们
we need to know what’s happening to them
我们需要知道他们身上发生的事
we need to know not just their joys and their victories
我们不仅仅要知道他们的喜悦和胜利
but their sorrows, their sufferings and their martyrdom
也要明白他们的悲伤，他们的痛苦和牺牲
so my purpose is to bring back to the church here in the west
所以我的目的是将这些带回到西方的教会
these stories, real stories
这些故事，真实的故事
of what god is doing with real people
关于上帝在真实的人身上正在做的事
these are our brothers and sisters in Christ
这些人是我们在基督里的弟兄和姐妹
how they suffer and what they need
他们怎样受苦，他们需要什么
I want people to know it
我希望人们知道这些
so they can pray for them
这样人们就可以为他们祈祷
and so that they can be moved to action
就会被感动而付诸行动
HeartCry has launched a YouTube channel
HeartCry在YouTube上推出了一个频道
it’s called HeartCry Films
名叫HeartCry Films
and this year alone
就在今年
we’re going to have eight documentaries
我们将会上线8部纪录片
we and HeartCry are very excited of this YouTube channel
我们和HeartCry都对这个YouTube频道感到非常兴奋
and we hope that it will be used of god to promote the great commission around the world
